Homes in bushfire-prone areas

Many Australian homes are situated in bushfire-prone areas. In response to this, the 2011 changes to the Building Code of Australia (BCA) introduced stricter regulations for selecting windows, doors, and other building materials for new constructions or renovations in these areas. These updates aim to reduce the risk of loss of life and property damage during bushfires.

Key precautions

If you live in, or are planning to build in, a bushfire-prone area, several precautions can help protect your home and enhance your safety. Key steps include selecting an appropriate building site, using fire-resistant materials, ensuring access to independent water sources, managing vegetation and debris around the property, and ensuring emergency vehicles can easily reach your home.

Protection and style without compromise

360Windows offers a range of aluminium windows and doors certified to meet BAL-40 zone requirements. Our products are engineered and tested to withstand conditions typical of a BAL-40 zone, providing both protection and style without compromising on efficiency and functionality.
